5th International Workshop on Science and Innovation Management (GICI 2023)

The Research Group of Social Studies of Science and Technology (GESCsYT, for its Spanish equivalent) of the University of Informatics Sciences, the R+D+i Sectorial Project of the Ministry of Higher Education "Management Model of Cuban Scientific and Technological Park", together with the Scientific and Technological Park of Havana, call for the 5th International Workshop on Science and Innovation Management (GICI 2023).

This workshop will aim to reflect among the different actors in Cuba and the region on the potential for the management of science, technology and innovation in organizations, universities, companies, entrepreneurs, scientific and technological parks, science and technology interface societies and non-profit foundations, among others; as well as to assess their impact on the economic and social development of our countries based on the experiences achieved.

  • Role of the University in science, technology and innovation systems.
  • Experiences in the policies and management of science, technology and innovation in universities and their social impact.
  • Studies on science, technology and society interaction: environmental impacts, gender and science, public participation, perception of science and scientific culture.
  •  Renewal of the methodological theoretical frameworks of STS studies linked to ICTs. 
  • University - Business - Society Link. Its impact on socio-economic development. 
  • Innovation management for local development.
  • R&D&I programs and projects as a way to strengthen the University - Business link. 
  • Role and experiences of the new dynamizing forms of science, technology and innovation: Science and Technology Parks; Science and Technology Interface Societies and non-profit foundations, in the promotion of University - Business relations. 
  • Business experiences in the management of science, technology and innovation.
  • Information and communication technologies in the government management based on science and innovation. 
  • Experiences of scientific advice to governments, organizations, companies or institutions.
  • Regional strategies and international cooperation alliances for strengthening the University-Business link and the management of science, technology and innovation.

Rules for Presentation, Submission and Publication of Papers

Papers will be received through the EasyChair platform:

Accepted papers will be published in the official reports of the Convention, under the imprint Ediciones Futuro with the corresponding ISBN registration. A selection of the papers will be proposed for publication in journals related to the themes of the Symposium. These are:
